Strawbery Banke Museum operates the last three nail making machines in the United States producing cut copper clench nails for boat builders and other hobbyists. Built in 1903 for the Atlas Tack Company of Fairhaven, MA, the machines were acquired upon the liquidation of the firm in 1975 to ensure these fastenings would continue to be available. Machines mark century-long ka-chunk See the Clench Nail Making Machine in action.
